Gear Guard Odour Removal Guarantee: Terms and Conditions

Gear Guard is made in the UK and independently tested to BS EN 13727 (bactericidal) and BS EN 1650 (fungicidal). It kills the bacteria and fungi that cause gear odour, rather than covering the smell with fragrance. We're confident enough in it to guarantee it. These terms explain how the guarantee works.

The guarantee

If you use Gear Guard as directed on a covered item for 7 days in a row and you're not satisfied that the odour has been removed, we'll refund the price you paid for one bottle. The guarantee covers hard-wearing gear such as gloves, headgear and pads, and hard surfaces. It doesn't cover soft materials (see section 4).

1. Who offers it

The Odour Removal Guarantee is offered by Combat Sports Hygiene Ltd, trading as CSH ("CSH", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16043612. Registered office: Units 13/17 Riverside Industrial Park, Moody Lane, Grimsby, DN31 2AN. Contact: hello@sportshygiene.com.

2. What's covered

Gear Guard bought directly from sportshygiene.com on or after 5 October 2026, as a single bottle, the Gear Guard 3 Bottle Bundle, the Gear Guard 10 Pack or the Gear Guard 20 Pack. Gear Guard bought from another retailer, or supplied as part of another bundle, kit or subscription, isn't covered.

3. Using it as directed

To claim, you must have used Gear Guard as directed on the label and product page, at least once a day for 7 days in a row on the item you're claiming for:

  1. Spray the inside and outside of the item until visibly wet.
  2. Leave it for 60 seconds.
  3. Wipe away the excess with a clean cloth.
  4. Let the item air dry fully before it's stored or packed.

4. Covered items

The guarantee covers the leather, synthetic leather, vinyl, rubber and plastic surfaces of sports equipment, and hard surfaces. For example:

  • Boxing and MMA gloves
  • Headgear
  • Thai pads, focus mitts, strike shields and kick shields
  • Shin guards
  • Hard surfaces such as gym benches, equipment, frames and kit boxes

Gear Guard can't guarantee performance on soft materials. The guarantee doesn't cover:

  • Soft or absorbent materials, including fabric, textiles, foam, sponge, upholstery, carpet and kit bag linings
  • Fabric items such as rashguards, gis, hand wraps, clothing and towels, which should be machine washed
  • Items with visible mould growth, rot, split or waterlogged padding, or other physical damage
  • Items that have been stored wet or sealed in a bag between uses during the 7 days
  • Odours with causes other than bacteria and fungi, for example smoke, fuel, chemicals or animal urine

5. How to claim

Email hello@sportshygiene.com within 30 days of your order being delivered, with:

  • your order number
  • the item you used Gear Guard on
  • how often you used it, and for how many days
  • a photo of the bottle showing it has been used

You don't need to send the bottle back. We may ask a short follow-up question before approving a claim.

6. What you'll receive

A refund of the price you paid for one bottle of Gear Guard, to your original payment method, within 14 days of us approving your claim. If you bought a bundle or pack, that's the order price for Gear Guard divided by the number of bottles. Delivery charges aren't refunded.

Unopened bottles can be returned under our normal refund policy.

7. Limits

  • One claim per customer, per household and per delivery address.
  • One claim per order, including orders for the 10 Pack and 20 Pack.
  • We may decline a claim that doesn't meet these terms, or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or abusive. If we decline a claim, we'll tell you why.

8. Your legal rights

This guarantee is in addition to your legal rights, including those under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It doesn't affect or replace them.

9. Changes

We may change or end the guarantee for future orders. Orders placed while the guarantee applies keep the terms that applied when the order was placed.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
