Partnerships: Who CSH Works With

Combat Sports Hygiene works alongside the organisations that run, govern and grow combat sport in the UK and beyond. Our partnerships take three forms: expert-written health and hygiene materials (developed with our medical consultant, Dr Asoka Wijayawickrama, MRCGP), athlete health and hygiene products, and sponsorship support for the athletes, academies and events doing the sport proud. Every organisation below is one we're proud to stand behind.

Governing bodies & athlete safety

SAFE MMA

SAFE MMA is the UK's registered charity (no. 1181268) dedicated to the medical safety of MMA competitors, founded in 2012 by the UK MMA community together with medical experts. It provides centralised, third-party medical screening, record-keeping and independent medical advice so that fighters step into the cage medically cleared. CSH supports SAFE MMA's mission with expert-written skin health and hygiene education for fighters, helping tackle the infections that keep athletes off fight cards. Visit safemma.org.

UKBJJA — UK Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association

The UKBJJA is the national governing body for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the United Kingdom, setting coaching and safeguarding standards, supporting athlete welfare and running the UK's ranked competition structure. CSH contributes expert-written hygiene and skin health materials to help clubs and competitors meet the standards the sport deserves, alongside product support for the grassroots BJJ community. Visit ukbjja.org.

EMMAA — England Mixed Martial Arts Association

Founded in 2019 and led by internationally respected referee Marc Goddard, EMMAA is the IMMAF-affiliated governing body committed to the safe, sustainable development of amateur MMA in England — governance, athlete protection policies and national team pathways rather than promotion. CSH works with EMMAA by providing health and hygiene education materials for the amateur pathway, where good habits are built. Visit emmaa.org.uk.

British Wrestling

British Wrestling is the national governing body for Olympic wrestling in the UK, running the pathway from grassroots clubs through to Great Britain teams — including GB's world grappling championship squads. Wrestling's close-contact training environment is exactly where hygiene discipline matters most, and CSH supports the sport with expert-written hygiene materials and athlete health products. Competitions & events

Empire Grappling

Empire Grappling is one of the UK and Northern Ireland's leading grappling event organisations, running gi and no-gi competition for all ages and experience levels as an official UKBJJA-ranked event partner. CSH partners with Empire Grappling on event sponsorship and mat-side hygiene — the products and protocols that keep hundreds of competitors rolling safely on shared mats across a long competition day. Visit empiregrapplingevents.com.

Submission Series

Submission Series exists to elevate UK jiu-jitsu, giving the country's emerging grappling talent the high-production stage it deserves. CSH backs that mission through sponsorship and event hygiene support, because a professional platform deserves professional standards on and around the mats. Visit submissionseries.com.

Academies & teams

Aspinall BJJ

Founded in 2005 by third-degree black belt Andy Aspinall in Atherton, Greater Manchester, Aspinall BJJ is the family-led academy behind one of British MMA's greatest success stories — it's where UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall built his grappling foundations. The academy trains everyone from six-year-olds to professional fighters, and CSH is proud to support its mats with hygiene products and expert-written health materials. Visit aspinallbjj.com.

Gracie Barra affiliated academies

Gracie Barra is one of the largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organisations in the world, with hundreds of affiliated schools teaching "Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone" to a consistent curriculum and standard. CSH works with Gracie Barra affiliated academies across the UK, supplying hygiene products and the health education materials that help large, busy academies protect every member on the mat. Visit graciebarra.com.

Scramble Academy Leeds

Scramble Academy Leeds is the Leeds jiu-jitsu academy partnered with Scramble, the UK-founded fightwear brand that has shaped grappling culture since 2009. CSH supports the academy with hygiene products and athlete health materials — a natural fit with a team that takes both its jiu-jitsu and its culture seriously. Visit scrambleacademyleeds.com.

Outcast Academy

Outcast Academy in Leeds combines expert-led BJJ, grappling and MMA coaching with a full recovery suite — gym facilities, sauna, ice bath and physiotherapy under one roof. That focus on looking after the whole athlete mirrors our own, and CSH partners with Outcast through product support and expert-written hygiene materials for its members. Visit outcastacademy.co.uk.

Dream Art

Founded in São Paulo in 2018 by world champion Isaque Bahiense, Dream Art is both an elite competition team — number one in the IBJJF academy rankings for 2022–23 and top-scoring team at the 2023 World Championship — and a social project giving talented young athletes from low-income families access to training, education and healthcare. CSH is proud to support Dream Art with sponsorship and athlete hygiene products as its competitors take on the sport's biggest stages. Visit dreamartjiujitsu.com.br.
